- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 6 carrots
- 6 celery
- 1 yellow onion
- 6 cups water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Everybody loves a great chicken soup recipe, so I’m going to give you mine. It’s the best chicken soup recipe you’ll ever make. Okay, that’s kind of cocky – but it is the easiest chicken soup recipe you’ll ever make with only 4 ingredients – 5 if you count the water, but why would you count the water? That’s just dumb.
The chicken and veggies outnumber the broth and that’s what makes it so good. In my opinion there is nothing worse than a chicken soup recipe that is all broth – blech. Soup should be hearty and filling!

Place 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of a crock pot. Chop carrots, celery and onion and throw into the pot. Pour in water until all over your ingredients are just barely covered. Cook on high for 5-6 hours.
Using two forks shred your chicken. Add salt and pepper to your soup to taste, I didn’t add very much salt and this soup still packed a lot of flavour.
Ah what a deliciously meaty, hearty and FILLING soup! Also extremely low calorie and most importantly extremely cheap. As usual, there is absolutely no need to use chicken breast. You can use cheaper cuts of chicken to cut the cost. You will increase the calories but you will also increase the flavour. Choose your own adventure friends!
