This oven roasted brussels sprouts recipe is delicious. Brussels sprouts are not your enemy! I’m going to make it my personal goal this year to do at least 5 different brussels sprout recipes and if you don’t like at least 1 of them, then I’ve failed as a chef. Today we’re going to start with a basic oven roasted brussels sprouts recipe to get you started – if you like brussels sprouts, you’ll love how these are done. If you don’t like brussels sprouts – skip this recipe and go make some brownies.
Directions for “Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe”
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Rinse your brussels sprouts and cut of the ends. Add brussels sprouts to a baking dish with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, crack sea salt over top and give your pan a little shimmy shake to make sure all the brussels sprouts are evenly coated.
Roast your brussels sprouts for 40-45 minutes, stirring once or twice to ensure even cooking. I served this oven roasted brussels sprouts recipe next to my 4 ingredient honey garlic pork chops from yesterday’s post and the combination was amazing!
These oven roasted brussels sprouts come out perfectly because they are not mushy. Mushy brussels sprouts are the absolute worst thing in the world and I wouldn’t wish them upon anybody. Okay, they’re not that bad. I just have flashbacks of my childhood when my Mom would make frozen brussels sprouts in the microwave and they’d come out like a mushy pile of stinky feet… sorry Mom.
Fun fact, up until 30 seconds ago I thought they were called “Brussel Sprouts” and had the whole post written like that, until I did a quick google search and discovered that they’re actually called BrusseLS sprouts. Like a brussel is a thing and the sprouts belong to them. I’m not the brightest brussel in the bunch but I know I can’t be the only one who thought this! Right guys? Right? Guys?
Brussels sprouts are great for you. Full of vitamin K and A and cholesterol lowering properties, not to mention cancer fighting abilities. The food from the Earth is always the best for your body.
