• 1 12oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Basil to taste
  • Pinch of garlic powder

Hi there! I was supposed to post this recipe on Wednesday, but spent 4+ hours working on other projects in my life so I figured you would all forgive me. I’m going to share this super quick and easy homemade tomato soup recipe using a can of crushed tomatoes.

I wasn’t even sure you could use crushed tomatoes in a soup recipe so I had to do some research. This was a recipe I threw together on Monday night before we went to the grocery store and I decided to use what we had available.

Directions

This is as simple as throwing all your ingredients into a slow cooker and turning it on high for 3 hours. I will be completely honest I didn’t use any measuring utensils when making this, so the ingredients are a rough estimate of what was used. Use equal parts broth to your milk (or cream if you want a heavier soup) but this soup was thick and creamy and the extra spice in there was so perfect.

We ate our soup with some homemade garlic toast and it was delicious. Definitely a perfect dinner for a cool fall evening, and I had the leftovers for lunch the following day!

Thank you guys for reading as always, I hope you get a chance to try this recipe.
