Hey everyone! Sorry for my absence from the site, things have been really hectic in my life. Nick and I have both been working really hard to get things started on our moving process so I haven’t been able to focus on new recipes!

So given it’s a busy time in my life I figured I would share with you all a 3 ingredient pasta bake that takes almost literally no prep time and tastes amazingly delicious for being so simple and cheap.

Now I’ve never had baked ziti, but Nick has, and says this tastes just like it – so we can go with that!

Baked Ziti

Ingredients:

Rigatoni noodles
1 Jar Tomato Sauce
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

Cook the noodles based on the instructions given to you on the box.
When the noodles are fully cooked strain them well.
Warm up your pasta sauce and mix throughouly together with your cooked rigatoni noodles.
In a greased baking dish layer half of the pasta and sauce mixture along the bottom.
Take 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and spread evenly over the bottom noodles.
Add the rest of the noodles on top of the cheese.
Add the last cup of shredded cheddar to the top of the noodles.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour.

The top cheese will get nice and crispy while the cheese in the middle will stay ooey-gooey. This recipe is super yummy! You can add as many layers to it as you want, I only did 2 layers of noodles and cheese to save calories but if you want to do 15 layers – you can!

Cost Breakdown:

1 box rigatoni noodles: $1.47 (Safeway)
1 jar tomato sauce: $1.50 (Walmart)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese: $2.99 (IGA)
